David Hoggard's take on local politics and life in general from Greensboro, NC

Monday, November 28, 2005

Well now, that was fun.  The first half of my century on this earth has been properly celebrated.  Thanks to everyone for your greetings, cards, kind words, libations and presence - either physically or in spirit.  Jinni and I spent all day yesterday in mainly horizontal poisitions with a few trips to the basement where our for-people-only Thanksgiving turkey is safely lying in repose.

Work starts back in earnest today, but I also will sprinkle in some public obligations during the week - mainly today - with two meetings.

(Check that - apparently I missed this meeting as it was last Monday and I wrote it down wrong - damn.). The War Memorial Stadium Task Force meets today with a historic properties consultant.  During this meeting we will hear about how much of the old stadium might have to remain in order for it to remain on the National Registry.  Here's some background.

Then I will make a short trip downtown for a follow-up Action Greensboro meeting for everyone who went to see all the wonders of Greenville, SC back in  late September.
