Commonbeauty has an interesting meditation on the theme Life is not fair. Something about it, or the comments there, reminded me of the epigraph to John Gardner's Sunlight Dialogues, which I read probably 20 years ago (I don't have it anymore so this may not be exact). From the I Ching: "The earth in her wisdom carries all things, good and evil, without exception."
We are going to have another sunny day today, which looks to be the last we'll have for several days - they're predicting rain from late tomorrow through Wednesday. So I'm shutting down this computer and making the most of the sunlight. On my walk yesterday I noticed the buds on the forsythia just waiting to bust out in golden rays. The crocuses are up. It's spring.
