Dates of all kinds, for all kinds

Thanks to AllAboutGeorge for this tip to a list of fun dates. Something for everyone, from “just dating” to long-time couples looking for something new to do together.

Some of my favorites include an old standby but one that offers endless variety. And it could include an interesting follow-on with the right person. On the other hand, maybe it’s the beautiful warm weather we’re having, but this sounds like a romantic option. Or if you wanted to make it more casual, you could do this and even combine it with this, this or this. (I can see I'm influenced at this moment by 1, hunger - it's dinner time - and 2, the spring weather.)

Switchback - hiking reflections

switchback  n.. A sharp bend in a road or trail on a steep incline.

Yow. I thought I was in pretty good shape from regularly walking the hilly roads around where I live. And hiking yesterday in the Blue Hills was not very challenging. But yow! I’m sore! Poor old Sammy-dog – I hope she’s not lame today – two hours of hiking is a lot for an old dog with back trouble. But she did seem to have a great time.

I was thinking about something my friend and I talked about while hiking. She’d always been very interested in having kids and even went through a time not long ago of considering fertility treatment or adoption. But she says now she feels very turned off on the whole idea of kids. Which is weird because we seem to have both had such complete reversals. Who switched our maternal identities? How did that happen?
