Senate Campaign News 20040725

A reasonably quiet news day in the Senate campaign. Each of the newspapers that had something to say about the campaigns had something different.

The St Petersburg Times has an article about the Democrat candidates courting the black vote. It notes that Peter Deutsch has the support from two of the three black House Representatives from Florida (Corrine Brown and Alcee Hastings), while Castor has support from several black members of the state legislature.

The Miami Herald writes about the television ads of the Republican race and how Mel Martinez has yet to run any. The Martinez campaign says they aren't concerned about running an ad just yet, since they have moved up in the polls without any. However, now that the person he's chasing for the nomination, Bill McCollum is running an ad, that may have to change soon.
