Nearly every newspaper in the state had an article about Michael Moore's promise to cover the elections in Florida. Only a couple of them made mention of the Senate candidates who were with the Florida delegation to the convention when he talked about it. The St Petersburg Time wrote that Betty Castor was to use the occasion to unveil her Military Families' Bill of Rights, but was upstaged once Peter Deutsch and Michael Moore took the podium. The complaint cites this quote "There are three people against Mel Martinez: Democrats, Castro and Bill McCollum. That's the company [McCollum] keeps."
