There's an interesting controversy brewing in Seattle today.

The big world news of the week has been the violent protests in Islamic countries over cartoons published by a Danish newspaper that contained unflattering depictions of Muhammed which are considered blasphemous. Well, The Stranger, a Seattle fringe newspaper, has decided to reprint those cartoons (both online and in print) as part of a discussion of the issues around free speech vs. appropriate respect for religious practices. It's the talk of the radio stations in Seattle today, and many people are holding their breath to see what the public reaction will be.

Interesting dilemma: as a blogger, writing about this controversy, should I provide a link to The Stranger? I'm writing at two levels of abstraction away from the cartoons themselves, but if I provide a link to them, am I communicating that I approve of publishing them? What about if I simply link to the home page of The Stranger? At what point do I become complicit? At what point do I -- and my family -- become a target of the rage of a subset of the Islamic community?
