Someone sent me a pointer to this totally cool juggling video today. Take a 5-minute break and watch it -- guaranteed to make you smile.

Today the ACM released a new report, diligently compiled over many months, on the facts of tech job migration and how it relates to economies govenrments, funding and educational systems. It's worth reading. The New York Times reported on it too.

In case you missed it today... in their quarterly earnings report today, H&R Block had to admit that they made a big mistake in filing their own taxes. Doh!

They admitted lots of other problems too. Yikes.

My kids have been out of town on their winter break this week, so... I've been shopping, particularly to support my new photography addiction. I got a new lens for my Canon EOS 20D (this one with image stabilization), and I got a spiffy Canon i9900 photo printer that will print up to 13 inches wide for really big photos. Now I'm learning the fine art of framing... but having a great time doing it. I was going to head up to Friday Harbor this weekend, but I think I'm going to stay in Bellevue and play photographer instead.

This is definitely not a cheap hobby... but it's a lot of fun. It's particularly interesting how you start to view the world differently after you do a certain number of photo shoots.

I've also been scanning old photo prints into my computer. Some of the more interesting ones I've uploaded to my Flickr account. Eventually I'll get them all scanned in (instead of sitting in a box). But I have hundreds, so that will be a while.
