I'm researching for some comments I'll be making at the MESA conference this week. (If you're in Orlando this week, look me up. The conference is in the Rosen Plaza.) I will be discussing RSS as a disruptive technology and challenging the MES vendors to define a value proposition. When I ask for a definition of MES (once manufacturing execution system, now morphing into new names for the acronym), even marketing people for the suppliers don't seem to know.
Any way, here is a quote from the latest Steve Gillmor blog (he's a technology pundit), "RSS (just my opinion, but likely true) has unleashed forces that are rending media into new, ever more powerful, targeted, strategic, and disruptive packages that are rebuidling information transfer in profoundly powerful and personal ways."
We're working on that at Automation World. What do you think about all this blogging and RSS feeds?
