Mitsubishi has been quite active lately. It's mostly known as a quiet company with PLCs featuring very fast processors that mostly appear in Japanese machines. Then in February the company announced a partnership with ILS Technology to add a module based on its software connectivity technology that enables direct PLC to enterprise database. Now Mitsubishi is partnering with Wonderware to integrate Wonderware's supervisory HMI and SCADA software with Mitsubishi's e-F@ctory MES and PLC. The Wonderware contributions include InTouch visualization, Historian, and production and performance management applications built on ArchestrA. The companies are cooperating on both technical integration and marketing activities.
