I have not had time to put in details, but my photo set from the Italian machinery tour is up on Flickr.

In the meantime, I've been corresponding with a retired engineer (who wishes he weren't retired). He points out that I didn't have to tour Italy to see great machine companies--there are many here in the U.S. He's right. And there are many in most industrialized countries of the world. They are all hit by the same economic downturn and there are people out of work everywhere. Actually, some of the machines I saw in Italy are built primarily there because of unique market forces. There are specialties everywhere. Where I live there are several companies that specialize in tube bending machines. They export worldwide. This is an interesting world.

This blog reaches a diverse set of readers. One set are media relations people--the people who send me news and ideas hoping to get their companies mentioned. Here is a blog post for you. From Chris Brogan--How to Influence Me. Read it at your own risk. Actually, he says things that I've said at forums in the past directed to marketers. Such as, treat me like a person and take time to understand what my readers want.
