Received my first feedback on the Invensys/Cognizant deal--from the point of view of Cognizant. Interesting. Thanks. (By the way, this came by way of LinkedIn. It's amazing the different ways of connecting globally.) I'm sure that there are positive and negative feelings all over the place. Any change has winners and losers, I guess.

Subject: Feedback on your post on Invensys
Gary,
Good to see your post on Invensys to go outside for product development covering the press release. Look forward to hear more from you after the media conference.

As a member part of this transition and having heard Sudipta & Franc talking about the partnership in person I strongly believe the strategy and the potential to tap the untapped market. Probably you might be interested in the interview of Cognizant's CEO:

Yesterday you announced the Invensys deal. What new business opportunities does it bring for Cognizant?

We expect this will accelerate our growth not only in the manufacturing sector, but also in life sciences and consumer package goods industry . It is a great revenue market opportunity for us as the deal is targeting a market space. Invensys has 40,000 customers and its products run in 2,00,000 plants across the world. So, it is a great opportunity for us to market the next generation of manufacturing automation in those plants. We are not opposed to doing more contracts such as the Tsystems deal and the Invensys ones that are designed to absorb employees of our partners if it benefits the transaction.

Thanks & Regards,
Satish
