It seems that Ben and Josh have discovered that the weekend is a time when we'd like to sleep in, so the weekend is a perfect time to wake us up early. On Sunday, Josh serenaded us with an early morning bugle call. Ben has a toy castle, and one piece of the castle - one removable piece of the castle - has a little button that, when pressed, plays a bugle fanfare, followed by the sounds of a drawbridge opening. After waking us up sometime between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM (which, however pathetic, is early for us), he wandered our bedroom, as we stayed in bed, trying to get whatever last vestiges of sleep we could, and as he wandered, he pressed the button on that little piece of castle. When we finally suggested that he go play in his room, he obliged, but on the way out - still playing the little fanfare - he stepped on a musical book that was hidden under some clothes on the floor, starting a rousing, digitized rendition of a Christmas song. Oh what a beautiful morning. I sure do love that boy; Amy and I laughed at it all.
