I came home for lunch today, as I usually do. Amy decided to take me back to work, because she had some errands to run; so, she started to get everything pulled together. I carried Joseph around while she did so. At one point, I came downstairs to the living room. Amy's music stand was out, with some music on it. There was Benjamin, standing on a small plastic chair that he had pulled up in front of the music stand, holding a little plastic stick from a K-nex set like a conductor's baton. He smiled at me and I asked him whether he was conducting; he said he was.
A little later, I came back and he told me how he had appended music to Amy's score. I circled around the music stand and sure enough, he had added a few bars to the end of the current song (with pencil, thankfully), and it was actually quite well done; there were recognizable notes and an attempt to draw a staff. Ben explained to me how we start at the beginning, and correctly pointed to the top of the left-hand page, then we read down the page, go over to the next page (again, starting at the top of the page), and read down that page.
It looks like we have a budding maestro on our hands.
