After Josh woke up from his nap this afternoon, Amy noticed that the left side of his neck looked weird. It's never good when someone asks you, "does that look right?" There was a swollen lump just below and front-of his ear, on his neck. It was kind of hard, and fairly large. So, Amy took him to urgent care in Woodland Hills (Simi's urgent care isn't open on Saturday's).
It turned out to be a swollen lymph node, which is not altogether uncommon; it was one thing that crossed my mind, too. Josh has been sick lately, so it may just be a viral infection, but it could also be an infection caused by the staph that have colonized in his mouth, so the doctor gave him some antibiotics. We'll keep an eye on it for the next couple of days, and it will recede, hopefully.
