When and Where Does This Real World Begin?

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou [posted by Troy] On a happier note, Wes Anderson has a new film. This is good. Anderson is the filmmaker that I'd like to be when they let be a filmmaker. Since Anderson is out there taking all of my ideas, they probably will overlook me as the next off-beat writer, with a great eye behind the camera. Guess I'll stick with libraries.

Closed minds will prevail. [posted by Troy] If you look at the election map, the break down of democrats vs republicans really shows how culturally divided our nation is. In fact, in the county by county breakdown, Kerry won every urban area, with a few spots in the suburbs. Bush won all rural area and a majority of suburban areas. It really is progressive versus tradition, those who support same sex marriage, choice, workers' rights, anti-big business, & affirmative action against those who support the death penalty, hand guns, globalization, & preempitive strikes. I feel like I am living on an episode of All in the Family, and it's us versus the Archie Bunkers, but the Archie Bunkers have lost the charm and good heartedness that we saw on the show. Now, archie is simpler, meaner, and thinks that being "saved" gives you the right to judge everyone else against a 19th century moral code. Can you tell I'm still a bit bitter? Don't worry, I'll be getting over it soon.

Game 7? [posted by Troy] Kim had a great idea that elections should be like the world series, so that we all have to vote 7 seven times. Whomever gets the best out of seven wins. Wouldn't it be ironic if Bush lost the electoral vote, but won the popular vote? That'd be so cool. Well, Kim was hoping to get a president for her birthday, but it looks like the present is coming late.
Last night we stopped by the Barack Obama victory rally. He really is so very cool.
