Blue Versus Gray...er, um, I mean Red North Versus South [posted by Troy] Take a look at this map. For a second, you may think that you are look at the results from the 2004 election, but really you are looking at a map from free versus slave states from 1860. The more things change, the more they don't change at all. You do know that the reason the Republicans had so many same sex marriage bans up for a vote this election was to turn out the right-wing Christian vote? It's true, and it worked. The politics of hate still lives on, but we should remember that our country was founded by people who burnt witches and generally couldn't get along in European society due to their conservative views.
