Pay to Download? [posted by Troy] So, you may have heard that Google is working with Stanford, Michigan, Oxford, Harvard, and the NY Public Library to scan millions of books and make their contents searchable through Google. They would not give you an entire book that is still under copyright (pre-1924 or so), so if you found something that looked good, you'd still have to go to a library or bookstore to get the book. This BBC Article hints that Google may try to sell you book so that you can have it right away. They have already announced that Google will be selling video downloands, which is the first time that they are offering content for sale on their site as opposed to just searching content.
