News That Isn't New...
Review Shows HRT Linked to Raised Stroke Risk
This is not really news - it is a review of trials and studies. This is a popular thing for researchers to do; for all that is really involved is re-shuffling the numbers from studies done by others to see if the results can be made to come out differently. Sometimes this is done by or for someone with an agenda or "an axe to grind", for example, the Big Drug Companies often fund such studies of studies hoping to massage results in their favor.
In this case it appears that this is truly an unbiased scholarly effort and the results simply re-confirm what we at The Wellness Club have known for many years, and Conventional Medicine has recently begun to acknowledge as well - conventional hormone replacement, using synthetic hormones such as Premarin (PREgnant MAre's urINe) is not only not helpful or protective, it is downright dangerous.
It seems that the only thing that a woman can do to make it even more dangerous is to be on conventional HRT and smoke at the same time. (Can you say "Ticking time bomb?")
More information and healthy, natural strategies can be found on our website where Dr. Myatt discusses Menopause.
Cheers, Nurse Mark
