According to Xinhua news agency the Olympic fire will also be carried through Taiwan.

And an interesting quote about Beijingers from the same article:
"While there has been some concern about Beijing's ability to finish its venues in time for the Games, Liu said construction was on schedule and a bigger hurdle would be improving Beijingers' manners, the newspaper said.

    "We need to work on getting people to stand in line, not spit on the street or litter, be polite and especially to be friendly and welcoming to guests," he said."

Along with such weighty issues as an anti-secession law and a leadership transition, China's parliament also weighed the threat of invasion -- by red ants.

The ants already caused some problems for Disneyland Hong Kong, set to open this summer.
