Google's latest feature is that
you cannot only look up a map for a certain address or area, but even
can zoom in with the satellite map database that they bought. It's
amazing how detailed these maps are. Too bad it's only the US for now
(I think), but it's a great feature anyway. I checked out the two
places where I lived in the US, and both houses are still there, no big
changes around them either. It was also nice to see the running track
where I did my daily 2 hour practice at Valdosta High School, also
there no changes in over 16 years (wow, time flies...).
Of course new site using these maps pop up right away. One of them lets
you upload sattelite pictures of famous or interesting landmarks. Check
it out here (thanks to Dave Winer) if you want to see for example Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch or Alcatraz.
