Nosce te ipsum

I'm trying to be diligent in my approach to learning AppleScript and it's finally starting to pay off. What I assumed all along is turning out to be true and that is while AppleScript is really a simple little language, it is incredibly powerful in what it allows you to do. That power comes from the scriptability of the applications and so many really good apps are scriptable. I can't begin to tell you how many times I needed to do this kind of stuff back in the PC days and the hacked together solutions that I had to come up were just not too pretty (they worked, but the elegance just wasn't there). I'm anxious to see the final version of Automator when Tiger ships next year. At first glance, it's like AppleScript without having to learn anything but like anything else, it has it's niche.
