I am getting ready to get out of here for the day, and I have just had
an incredibly slow day. After my initial bout of ass-dragging, I
was able to get working on a couple of small issues that popped up at
work. I was going to post what I worked on today, but since it is
incredibly boring and much too geeky I decided against it.
I am going to hit the gym today. My ankle is still bothering me,
so let's see what happens today. The only other things I need to
do are to do a tiny bit of grocery shopping and finish some other
household things. That's the price I pay for my weekend trip to
NYC.
Next weekend, I am doing absolutely nothing except staying in Baltimore.

Today has been one of those days where I just have been completely
unable to get started. I was dragging this morning getting out of
bed, dragging on my way to the office, and dragging this morning while
trying to get some stuff done. Now, I finally have my second
wind, and I am starting to work on some stuff at work. No better
time to blog than now.
Weekend was not too bad, but I think that my lack of sleep during it
has contributed to my overall dragginess today. I was up early on
both Saturday and Sunday--to leave for and come home from New York
City. Complicating matters for yesterday, of course, was the
drinking until 3:30 in the morning and the consumption of a burrito
shortly thereafter. Damn that burrito! Yesterday, I went to a Super Bowl party at a friends house in the
'hood. It was a good time, with the usual Super Bowl
accoutrements: lots of food, lots of beer, and loud fans. In this
case, almost everyone was from Massachusetts. Thus, the house was
pretty partial to the Pats. Nice to see the Pats win, but I was
not able to see my desired Theismann-like injury to Terrell
Owens. Admittedly, he looked pretty good for a guy with pins and
screws in his ankle. That still does not change the fact that I
hate him.
And the one thing that used to be good about the Super Bowl now
sucks. The ads are just not terribly good--although the
Careerbuilder monkeys and the ads with MC Hammer were pretty damn
funny. If I saw that damn Ford Mustang ad again, I was going to
fling myself at the big screen. These ads makes me pine for the
heady dot-com era: the Monster.com ads and the "Herding Cats" ad (which
was for a consultant, if memory serves) were so much better than most
of the ads from yesterday.
