- Terps beat Duke on Saturday night.
Duke sucks. Of course, I must ask the question as to why the
rioting students could not demolish my office. They can certainly
go out to Route 1 and topple some signs and set a dumpster on
fire. They cannot apparently destroy my office on their way to
merry-making on Route 1. Oh well, maybe it has something to do
with the fallout-shelter grade of the building that houses my
office.
- I tend not to be one who watches any televised award show as they
generally just suck. The Grammy Awards tends to be one that fits
the bill. Nonetheless, it was quite nice to see that Ray Charles'
last album, Genius Loves Company, won the lion's share of awards.
I bought it on a lark following Charles' death last year, and I was
pleased with it. If you do not have this album, I suggest picking
it up. Of the tracks on that album, the duets with Willie Nelson,
Gladys Knight, and B.B. King make the album worth buying.
- In other news, my high school alma mater, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, will benefit from a $5 million dollar scholarship fund to allow three Poly students to attend Johns Hopkins University to attain an engineering degree. That's a good thing.
- Tonight, I will be enjoying the Beanpot at Captain Larry's. Go Terriers!
