Book Reviews from participants in the Pollinate Your Mind Summer Reading Club

Cold Steel Rain by Kenneth Abel: A must read, lengthy but well worth the time. Every chapter very captivating.

Question of Honor by Nita Abrams: I thought the spy storyline was very interesting. I also liked the fact that the main male character screwed up constantly. It was fun wondering if he would live long enough to actually make it to his "happily-ever-after"!

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher: This, I think, is one of the best and most well written books I've ever read. He shows the true side of a teenage suicide and the ways that so many people could've saved her. This book was truly touching. I liked how it wasn't just Hannah's tape that you read, but Clay's thoughts and actions, also. An outstanding book.

Ghost War by Alex Berenson: Great 2nd book in a new series. Great characters, story plot. Super read.

Remember by Barbara Taylor Bradford: This book was a good read. It had historical facts, romance, and very detailed accounts on people in the book.

Secret Affair by Barbara Taylor Bradford: I was very disappointed with this. I've read many other of this author's books and they were really great! This one didn't go into detail like her other novels.

Stabbing in the Stables by Simon Brett: Jude and Carole are as engaging in this book as they are in Brett's other fethering mysteries. The mystery introduces one to a variety of characters who could have "done it". The ending has predictability and surprise.

Send No Flowers by Sandra Brown: This book was way to predictable and schmaltzy for me. Some of Brown's books are written better than others. This one seemed to be "cranked out" in a very predictable way. If you like well written books, don't choose "Send no flowers."

The Switch by Sandra Brown: this book is one of Brown's mystery novels. It is intriguing and surprising, but not out of the realm of "figuring" out. I really do not care for the steamy sex scenes and feel they are not really relevant to the plot of the book. I enjoyed the story and it was near the "I can't put it down" category.

My Spiritual Inheritance by Juanita Bynum: Walking in your destiny.

Devil's Workshop by Stephen Cannell: Well written, good plot, lots of action. Good read.
