Book Reviews from participants in the Pollinate Your Mind Summer Reading Club Home by Julie Andrews: A side of Julie Andrews that I didn't know about. her early years were painful when her parents divorced. Mother was gone doing performing in different places and had no time for Julie. It was a surprise to her mother that she could sing. Julie then came to America. Nightfall and other stories by Isaac Asimov: As much as I love science fiction short stories, I found the writing in this collection to be a bit ponderous. However, Asimov's ideas are exciting and I enjoyed many of the stories. Especially "Hostess". Stone Cold by David Baldacci: The Camel Club helps another of the group "con" the bad guy-a casino owner. "Light" mystery. A Woman in Charge by Carl Bernstein: W woman of great courage keeping her family and focus together. The Well Fed Writer : Back for seconds by Peter Bowerman: A good resource much broader than his first. The Fiction Class by Susan Breen: Great story of an author and her mother. Elton: the biography by David Buckley: I'm a long-time fan of Elton John and I thought I knew just about everything about him, but this book reveals a lot more than I ever knew! Imposter by Davis Bunn: Good, but not great. I found myself losing focus several times and had a hard time connecting with the characters. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne: Very thought provoking and encourages positive thinking. Queen of Babble in the Big City by Meg Cabot: Great follow-up to first book. Continuing with same characters. Very light-hearted and fun story. Has a lot of fashion, especially bridal fashion as part of the story. Leaves you wanting another book to continue story. Cold Hit by Stephen Cannell: Lots of suspense, lots of action. Runaway Heart by Stephen Cannell: thrilling, hard to put the book down. a little romance. Vertical Coffin by Stephen Cannell: Excellent plot,lots of action, emotionally packed. 4:07:36 PM     Pollinate Your Mind Summer Reading Club News This week 61 people read 173 books.
