"Coincidence," you say? To emphatically reiterate my point: it is my contention that it mathematically defies the laws of probability that Hirsh and Venice are not related." --sniggy (2007)

"Whatever the reason, Norton Avenue was a deliberate choice." -Larry Harnisch, (1997)

"The Black Dahlia case will never be solved. It will remain a gaping, black hole in the annuals of Los Angeles crime."--John Gilmore, (2007)

"I, unlike most, read my posts sever times before hitting that send button." --Pamela Hazelton, (2007)

"Beyond the fact that you are exceptionally rude, for the record, I don't know who you are, or what your "work" is or what "map" you are talking about". --Steve Hodel, (2007).

Black Dahlia 4.0

Four point zero is, or was, a perfect evaluation in the Army. The Navy required a five for an outstanding performance rating. The masterful work you see above is executed in exactly four lines. North-south and east-west in black. The line of proof, and the murder/suicide line in red. Simple, elegant, clean, sharp, no ragged edges or padding.

Betty was as flawlessly bisected from west to east. This is the signature of our ripper's work.  His precise placement of the body on Norton Av. created the map you see:

"The location of the body when we arrived there was as I said, 54 feet north of this fire plug which was directly in the center of the 1200 foot space. The sidewalk is in on this street and the curbs in and also the indentations for the driveway are in and paved. The driveway measures five foot from the curb in the sidewalk. The sidewalk is five foot wide. The body was lying with the head towards the north, the feet towards the south, the left leg was five inches west of the sidewalk. The legs were spread out and the body was severed in two. The body was lying face up and the severed part was jogged over about 10 inches, the upper half of the body from the lower half."- Lt. Jesse Haskins, LAPD

He has placed the lower torso perfectly North and South. The upper torso is offset ten inches to the west and angled back to the East by Northeast. Exactly as reproduced by the red lines on the map. The arc of Latitude is bisected into two minute intervals along thirty-four degrees, one minute and measures of longitude are perfectly bisected. The race track joke is one only a mathematician would get. Zeno's paradox of infinite divisibility, indeed. But it's there, southward, half-way between the horror and the Hawthorne Airport.  Hollywood Park. The Big Trotsky.
