Peercast makes another jump forward with the addition of playlist and user configurable info that streams with the audio. Peercast uses the GNUtella network to distribute streaming audio without central servers or need for more bandwidth as your audience grows. Each peer becomes a relay for the stream.
The software is still Windows only, but as more folks start using this, more developers will become interested. A java version for Macs would be great.

Lukwam has his TiVo wired to the web. I would pay real money to be able to download some of the shows. We live in europe and can't get many of the programs from the states until they go into syndication. I wouldn't mind paying both the producers/onbwers of the copyright5s and my 'personal distributor'.
Unfortunately there is no mechanism in place for this. Too bad, because I can only see this going the same route as sattelite. The web is full of sites that help you burn your own decryption/subscription cards and deliver updates when the codes change. So shortsighted.
So, if anyone wants to 'share' some US programming with me, I'm all ears [and eyes!]
I'm also considering either purchasing a TiVo in the states and hooking it up here (the epg won't work ofcourse) or making my own pvr, so I can return the favour.

 The 7th annual Gay pride Canal Parade took place in Amsterdam yesterday. almost 100 boat-floats tour through the inner canals of the city, housemusic blaring, a fun day for everyone. Too bad the weather didn't cooperate.
