I've been thinking alot about audio blogging today. Some interesting comments came in yesterday, including a pointer to some direct to mp3 recording software for OSX. I was so excited that I bought the software immediately, only to find out that it probably needs an update to work properly on my Jaguar upgraded system.

So for now I'm resorting back to my current sequence: Record with AudioX1.0, then convert to an mp3 file with mAC3dec.

If I'm reading a long piece and I mess up, I can always to a quick edit in quicktime.

Ofcourse none of this process is integrated into the act of blogging. It really needs to become an automated part of the process.

Now I don't think this is going to be something everyone will want to do. But it makes perfect sense for me to read other people's writing and post the audio on my weblog. This would work especially well for those longer essays that we all love to point to. Now when I point to one, I'll also give you the option of hearing me read it. A couple of those a day and you might really have something fun to listen to!

Keep the suggestions and comments coming. I think we're on to something here.

A picture named brandNew.jpg It was 12 years ago today that Patricia insisted "this kid is done and needs to get out". I didn't need to hear any more than those words. It was the moment we'd been waiting for. Finally that moment had arrived!!

We knew Christina hadn't flipped, and there was no way she was going to make it out in the breech position, thus a cesarean had been planned weeks in advance.

There was an excellent vibe in the operating room where Christina was born, Doctor Ladocsi chatted happily as I held Patricia's hand and we talked about our excitement. The radio was on, playing "In my life" by the Beatles as our princess was lifted from her warm nest and brought into the world.

One more bit for the record, we chose Christina (Christopher had it been a boy) because this love child was conceived under the diningroom table during a romantic holiday dinner the previous christmas.

Today you become a young woman, but you'll always be Daddy's girl. Happy Birthday my darling Christina! - Love, Dad.
