It was 12 years ago today that Patricia insisted "this kid is done and needs to get out". I didn't need to hear any more than those words. It was the moment we'd been waiting for. Finally that moment had arrived!!
We knew Christina hadn't flipped, and there was no way she was going to make it out in the breech position, thus a cesarean had been planned weeks in advance.
There was an excellent vibe in the operating room where Christina was born, Doctor Ladocsi chatted happily as I held Patricia's hand and we talked about our excitement. The radio was on, playing "In my life" by the Beatles as our princess was lifted from her warm nest and brought into the world.
One more bit for the record, we chose Christina (Christopher had it been a boy) because this love child was conceived under the diningroom table during a romantic holiday dinner the previous christmas.
Today you become a young woman, but you'll always be Daddy's girl. Happy Birthday my darling Christina! - Love, Dad.
