Just got back from the airshow. I've never really been to a full show, I was always working the 'booth' when I still had the helicopter company. We flew in ourselves, avoiding the traffic jams leading to the airport.

I must say I was quite impressed. Not too shabby for the lowlands. I'll sort through my pictures tomorrow, unfortunately my lens had a few spots so I'll have to do some work on them.

This picture is of the Royal Air Force's Blue Eagles demonstration of a Lynx and Gazelle helicopters, none of which are flying upright in this shot :)

Fun detail, I met John, a programmer from the states who is living here with his girlfriend who works in Leiden. He'd heard me talking about the airshow on the Source Code and decided to come. Business model anyone?

The Lelystad airshow is on today and I've been invited! We're scheduled to arrive around 11am and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. The Big Cam is going along for pix.

New Scientist: "Some astronomers have argued that extraterrestrials trying to advertise their presence would be likely to transmit at this frequency, and SETI researchers conventionally scan this part of the radio spectrum."
