register.verifiedvoting.org: “The Pentagon has begun restricting international access to the official Web site intended to help overseas absentee voters cast ballots.”
I just used this to register myself and it's not being blocked for my isp. According to the IHT the oficial reason is "to thwart hackers". Horseshit.

Patrick Ritchie: “I'm not saying that Firefox itself needs to support all the advanced features of RSS but it does need to provide hooks into more featureful aggregators.”

digitalmerging: “This type of development continues to bring the artist and the audience one step closer together. Musicians have been putting their music online for a few years now but the ability to have it automated through the blogging process makes it that much easier for their music to be accessed. Maybe in the future, one of these programs will include a feature that suggests new music to try out similar to what Tivo does for television.”

Network-Centric Advocacy: “As the percentage of campaign workers with mp3 playing equipment starts to rise (millions) there is a huge potential to load the devises with high value listening materials beyond Monkeys songs stolen from Mike Nesbitt..”

I'm totally digging Mars Edit, a blog editor for mac that uses xml-rpc and is thus compatible with my Radio UserLand setup. No support for enclosures yet, but it is scriptable, meaning I can use it to auto post my podcasts automatically.

Via email: "Tomorrow we will be making an official announcement that Furl has been acquired. However, we wanted you to be the first to hear the news. We are joining LookSmart, a provider of Web search and research-quality articles search, in addition to other high-quality search products."
In a world of the past, the success of the shows I'm podcasting would have shut down the program completely. I'm pushing out an almost constant 10 Mb/s with spikes up to 15 Mb/s at the top of the hour when newsreaders and iPodders kick in.
Not many a podcaster will be able to afford that kind of bandwidth usage without financing of some sort.
Luckily the boys and girls on the ipodder-dev list anticipated this and have integrated bittorrent into several versions of the application.
From what I've been hearing the p2p podcast network is already bootstrapped on EGC and others with success!
Once we have a single version of iPodder (or one per platform) I'll do my bootstraps, posting multiple feeds at forst and eventually hope to drop the direct download. I'm going to install some log tracking software today so I can measure the bootstrapping process.
