In today's source code I mentioned an essay I wrote 4 years ago. Certainly the original source code for what the iPodder is becoming. For extra history points see Dave's Virtual Bandwidth piece that followed and ultimately resulted in Payloads for RSS
Wow, what are the odds of me telling a Robert Palmer story in today's Source Code and Dave posting about him at the same time? I just uploaded the show and saw this in my aggregator. We better record a TS pretty soon :)
Een prachtig kiekje genomen bij de Paul Schulten modeshow. vlr: Christel de P.A., Christina Curry, Katja Trijber. Naast Patricia zijn dit de andere vrouwen in mijn leven :)
Something I want to talk about on today's source code is how best to provide additional information to listeners, such as links to sites mentioned in the show. Perhaps even more important is how we make it as easy as possible to create this type of resource. Steve Ivy has an interesting idea.
Another fantastic iPodder has just been released for the mac. iPodderX is perfect for newbies and has some great features. It's simplicity is inspiring:
- Graphical User Interface
- A single app -- no install needed. Just download and run
- Editable feed list
- Easily adjustable cron scheduling
- Supports BitTorrent files
- Supports ANY enclosed file, not just audio
- Audio files get moved to iTunes, other files stored in a Download directory
Poynter.org: "This should give some radio executives more than a few sleepless nights as their entire program distribution infrastructure was seemingly circumvented overnight."
