Paul Prescod has gathered together pointers to a lot of reactions to the Google API. Also look out for Paul Prescod's article about the Google API which should appear on XML.com shortly. I've seen an early draft and it's a definitely worth reading. Some strong arguments, IMO.

Sony VX7

Roger Clarke's CFP (computer, freedom and privacy) 2002 Notes
These are personal notes prepared, on the fly, by a frequent participant and advisory committee-member, who has been long involved in privacy issues, in Internet policy issues, and in the community that is CFP. This document starts with an overall impression of CFP'02, followed by a partly thematic and partly sequential treatment of the various sessions. [Via Privacy Digest]

Nokia M2M
Machine à machine, ou les web services sans le web... An M2M application begins with server-side application software running anywhere on the Internet. The Nokia M2M Gateway connects to the
application software with a secure (SSL) connection, and bridges the application to remote devices. The Nokia terminal consists of a GSM engine, SIM-card reader, application interface, integrated antenna, external antenna connector and power interface. Terminal-side software application completes the picture by connecting through the terminal to the server-side application software...
