It's 86 degrees, Farenheit, in Brisbane, Australia, right now. That's 97 degrees warmer than it is here at this very moment. Thinks about that one for a second. Brr!

Below is a comment from the my OS X 10.1.3 post from a day or so ago. It's a good example of why I like YACCS better than Radio's built in comments macro (no offense, Dave!). With YACCS, I can subscribe to my own comments as a RSS feed--there's no need to click on the discussion to see what's new. And if I find a comment interesting, I can post it to the blog. Hossein Sharifi @ 02/21/2002 11:59 PM. iBook 500 here. I bet it was snappy on your Powerbook even before 10.1. For my iBook, it's still much more sluggish than 9.1, but the advantages greatly outweigh the difference in speed, so I'm happy. Radio doesn't seem to be scanning news from Userland hosted sites tonight, even though everything else is coming in 10x10. Is anyone else experiening the same thing? 7:29:13 PM

PETA :: Media Center :: News Releases: "When a deer took out the entire front end of the car driven by two PETA anti-hunting campaigners, PETA saw red and it wasn't just the blood of the animal they believe was fleeing hunters' guns. Today, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) faxed to Bob McDowell, director of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife, and John Bradway, chairman of the Fish and Game Council, a notice of intent to sue them as a result of the collision late last November."
Stupid, stupid stupid. PETA is arguing that the state is negligent by allowing the size of deer herds to increase, purportedly to placate hunters who want to kill the deer. I might not be the sharpest pencil in the bunch, but I do know that one of the most humane solutions to animal overpopulation is hunting. Without hunting, or a healthy population of natural predators, a species will eventually eat themselves out of their own habitat, causing their population to crash due to famine. PETA doesn't want the deer to be hunted. They don't want them to be hit by cars, either. What exactly do they want? 6:08:52 PM
