TWO young girls going to school are crossing the street in a crosswalk with no signal. The crosswalk is an old-style, horizontal line on the pavement, not the new, easier-to-see ladder crosswalk stripping.
A motorist is on his way to work. His windshield is foggy. He hits the young girls. One dies instantly and the other is in intensive care. The parents will never hold one of them again.
The motorist says, "I did not see them. My windshield was foggy." That seems to be an acceptable reason, because no charges have yet been filed.
