I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Frequent correspondent Randy Alfred sends along a link to this Alternet piece about the American Right's weird science. I've been meaning to link to Chris Mooney's The Republican War on Science, too. I probably won't read it, because I bet it would just be too damned depressing. If the Right is right, then why do they have to lie so much? If the right's positions are based on anything besides superstition, hatred, and self-righteousness, why are they so eager to destroy real knowledge? Not to say that there aren't any sins against science on the left, as there certainly are and have been, but this seems to be so coordinated, and driven from the top. Keep us all ignorant about science, so we have to believe the lies of power.

And it doesn't help when seemingly intelligent bloggers make such stupid posts as this one. There are more irrelevancies, non sequiters, and just plain errors in these three paragraphs than you're likely to read most anywhere else. The comments are, at least, useful.
