Enron: The Fallout. Is it that difficult to place Enron in the context of the larger bubble?ÊÊIs it so much a stretch to see Enron as yet another consequence of easy money?ÊÊIn the last two years many of the malinvestments of the last boom have become manifest--the telecom sector and the Internet craze, among others. Enron was just another misshapen product of an unhealthy and unstable economic system, too heavily burdened with governmental interventions and too awash in fiat money. I'm pretty sure it's only a joke, but it's funny regardless: I go to school in Boulder Colorado for physics, as some of you know. There are about 6 of the Boulderite leftist students that are going to the mideast to help with the peace process....yeah right,,,you know the type, more $$ than sense and they are all about 19 years old. They are looking forward to it.,,and so am I.....to wit: I helped see them off with a bunch of others,...afraid though that I may be responsible for their demise. See, I told them that the way to show PEACE and friendliness to the Israeli Troopers was to make a "Earth Gesture" of peace. I told them here is what you do: 1) Get the attention of an IDF Trooper. 2) Squat down and place your right hand on the ground...(not picking up anything, just touching the ground, but who can tell, right!?---grin) 3) Rise up and make an "earth gesture" towards the Israeli soldier, by rotating their pitching arm rapidly in a throwing fashion towards the IDF Trooper,...casting good earth energy towards them... 4) (I left out part four, I think) The nice IDF Trooper will respond in kind by redistributing elemental lead (symbol Pb) of the earth, in their general direction. 5) The world is now a better place.... The idiots did not get it, and just said "Oh, that is very nice of you to share that....we will try it"... Watch the Breaking News for Colorado Student Casualties soon..... [John Robb's Radio Weblog] While I agree that such a patent would be disturbing (and in fact should not be issued under US laws), there is no patent involved in this case. The company which decoded the sequence is simply charging for access, which is a perfectly sensible thing for them to do.
