Microsoft judge: Settlement changes?
In an unusual move, a federal judge asks Microsoft and the Justice Department if they plan any changes to their proposed settlement in response to public comments. [CNET News.com]
...here's my prediction...the judge will throw out or significantly modify the settlement. I think MS is in trouble and this case is far from over...keep an eye on the 9 rebel states. If the judge does rule against MS then you can expect another round of settlement talks...mj

'Do Not Call' needs input
The FTC is soliciting consumer comments on a proposal to create a national 'Do Not Call' registry the registry would be an amendment to the current Telemarketing Sales Rule.
"Under the FTC's proposed change to the TSR, a consumer would be able to call a toll-free number to place their phone number on a national 'do not call' registry. Once your number is on the registry, it would be illegal for a telemarketer to call it..."[Macintouch]
...an idea that needs support...for some reason the telemarketing industry is opposed...they say it isn't needed...yea right, kind of like letting a criminal handle their own probation...mj

Sharon Regrets Not Killing Arafat
Israel should have killed Yasser Arafat 20 years ago, while he was under Israeli siege in Beirut, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said in an interview published Thursday.
Sharon said he was "sorry we didn't liquidate him," but that Arafat could yet become a partner for peace if he cracked down on Palestinian militants. [iWon News]
...on one side we have a man trying to hold together a group filled with hatred for the other side...wait a minute...that's true for both sides...what a waste of energy...mj
