Lichen Look-alikes
Last July, during a
trip to Tahoe, I took a picture of some lichen on
a rock near the bottom of Glen Alpine Falls, near the
south end of Fallen Leaf Lake, and near a trailhead into
the Desolation Wilderness. This spot is in El Dorado County,
California.
A few days ago, on
garret vreeland's always interesting
dangerousmeta weblog, I saw another lichen-on-a-rock
photo. My only clue as to the location of that one
is the alt text: "lichens, eldorado wilderness".
I believe that New Mexico's Eldorado Wilderness Area
is near Santa Fe.
