Returned from the North
Spent a few days visiting friends just a ways off of Chumstick Highway. Had a wonderful visit.
Got around 8 inches of snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas, and another six or eight on Thursday or Friday, totalling ... 9 or 10 inches. My dad calls it "snow math". Took a bunch of pix and haven't uploaded them yet. The two kinds of photos I saw but didn't take: (1) real old 1950's-era trucks, piled with 8+ inches of snow; and (2) the bare limbs of the trees in the apple orchards, each horizontal stretch holding a few inches of snow.
They got almost completely windless snow this past week.
Perfect weather for the flight over the snow-covered Cascades.
