Enephelitic Dyschronia
Several years ago (probably 1998 or 1999),
I coined the word "dyschronia"
(in a parallel with the word "dyslexia"), and I
wrote a story which imagined the various forms
of dyschronia.
Today was the worst day of 2003 for the form that I had
labeled "Enephelitic Dyschronia", so I decided to
dig up that old story to post it. I was quite
surprised to find Google telling me that the word
already existed (i.e., had been independently coined),
was already in use in psych circles, and that it
did indeed mean roughly what my word meant.
I suppose an update of the piece today would have to add
something like "Dyschronic Blogorrhea", but I haven't the
time this evening to write about that one :-)
