2003 Denver Mayoral Transition
Mayor Hickenlooper has appointed several more staffers according to the Rocky Mountain News [August 29, 2003, "Mayor cuts ties to past with picks"]. From the article, "The most significant change comes from Hickenlooper's belief that all city functions fall into one of four areas: human services, neighborhood services, administrative services and economic development. To that end, he has created positions for four special assistants who will oversee those areas." Among the new people named yesterday are: Sarah Kendall, 30, deputy chief of staff, Lisa Flores, 33, special assistant to the mayor for human services, Beth Conover, 39, special assistant to the mayor for neighborhood services, Michelle Harper, 50, special assistant to the mayor for administrative services, Peter Chapman, 38, special assistant to the mayor for economic growth, L. Chantal Unfug, 36, liaison to boards and commissions, Anthony Aragon, 36, scheduler, Sarah Elliott, 25, press assistant, Tony Young, 29, executive assistant to the mayor, Angela Casias, 30, executive assistant to the mayor.
