Denver November 2004 Election

Rutt Bridges is jumping into the race for U.S. Senate. He will be taking on incumbent Ben Nighthorse Campbell.

Mr. Bridges, you're getting into the fight at a good time. A campaign needs an infrastructure for managing content and moving content around. In addition there is the need to meet with voters in conversation. A weblog allows the campaign to reach out to voters in a different type of conversation. Howard Dean's campaign used the campaign weblog to mine opinions and issues. Where's your weblog? I can help. E-mail me at jworr@operamail.com. No charge.

I wonder if Mr. Bridges will be successful as a businessman turned political leader like John Hickenlooper, Michael Bloomfield, and others?

2004 Presidential Election

The Rocky is profiling Maryilyn Musgrave [February 28, 2003, "Musgrave long rallied to ban gay marriage"]. From the article, 'Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman' - the Federal Marriage Amendment proposed by Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colorado. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave bows only to God and family. Those allegiances propelled Musgrave -into the national spotlight Tuesday when President Bush backed her proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages."

Gary Trudeau is offering $10,000 for someone that can put to rest once and for all the rumours that George Bush did not complete his National Guard duty.

Update: Here are the numbers from a recent CBS News poll on the presidential race. It looks like a good time for the President to hit the air. From the article, "The four Democrats still officially seeking their party's presidential nod will debate Sunday for the last time before Super Tuesday, even as a new CBS News poll shows President Bush's approval rating slipping below 50 percent for the first time in that survey. Some 47% of Americans now approve of the way the President is handling his job, while 44% disapprove. The same poll shows a John Kerry/John Edwards ticket beating one headed by Mr. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney in the fall election, by a margin of 50 percent to 42 percent." This'll be a good time to watch to see if a media buy'll get the President's numbers up.

Update: Blogs for Bush is arguing that President Bush had no choice in his support of the amendment to ban gay marriage.
