2008 Presidential Election
Peggy Noonan: "What you need for DNC chairman is a man or woman of some stature who can make the case for your party day in and day out in big media...You need someone who makes the Democratic Party look nonsleazy, nonmanipulative and nonweak on TV. He doesn't have to be nationally known, but he must be--how to put this?--good-natured, moderate in manner, and normal-seeming."
Here's a link to the Swing State Project's write up of the mechanics of the DNC election. Thanks to Taegan Goddard for the link.

Social Security
Josh Marshall: "Here is one of many comparisons and observations we'll be making to provide some counterweight to the White House's efforts to deceive the American people about Social Security."

Colorado Water
Here's an article from the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel about the 2005 Legislative session that starts on Wednesday. From the article, "Grand Junction's freshmen legislators Bernie Buescher and Josh Penry have plans to protect Western Slope water and address the consequences of moving water from one area of the state to another. Penry, a 28-year-old Republican, plans to pack a punch his first day on the job. He introduces his basin-of-origin bill Wednesday. Whether the legislation that survives both chambers carries his name or Buescher's doesn't matter, he said." That should be a fun piece of legislation to watch, for all you water nuts out there.
