New West: "It's official; Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney announced Wednesday that he will seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States. After much preemptive speculation by bloggers and columnist nationwide, The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Gov. Romney will in fact leave his current gig as governor this Thursday to initiate his bid for the presidency."

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel is reporting that U.S. Senator Ken Salazar is available as a Vice Presidential candidate. From the article, "Colorado's junior senator said Wednesday that while he is not 'actively' seeking a vice presidential nomination in 2008, he has not foreclosed the possibility.
"'Never say never,' Sen. Ken Salazar, D-Colo., said with a laugh when asked about the possibility. 'Who knows what will happen in one's life around the corner?'"
