Vegemite - some love it and some hate it. Have you tried it? Before you do, you might like to read this yarn of mine that explores the origins of Australia's national paste. 7:02:50 AM    Comments ()

It's raining - Today's forecast is for rain. Tomorrow's forecast is for rain. The two and three day outlook is for rain. I like it when it rains.

Rainy weather is good for reading, for snuggling, for watching videos and eating popcorn. I too have visited the Pacific North West and have enjoyed the constant cloud leakage there. I have friends who live in Vancouver, Washington whom I visit every once in a while.

Lectern thumping - Gay Alcorn writes that "George Bush's State of the Union speech this week was short, at just under 50 minutes. It was not particularly eloquent. But it was one of the most bellicose in years..."

That got me thinking about belicose [warlike in manner or temperament; pugnacious] and why a president in only his first year in office needs to be quite so outspoken. From such documentaries as Wag the Dog and Yes Minister I have learnt that wars are only necessary to divert ones attention from home affairs.
