Look’s like the British win this one. Amazon.co.uk is taking orders for Volumes 1-3 of The West Wing Season One on DVD and VHS cassette. No such listing exists on Amazon.com. The British DVDs are in Region 2 encoding - Europe, Middle East & Japan only and both the DVDs and tapes are in PAL not NTSC, so North Americans are out of luck.

The Canadian public was surprised to learn that its Joint Task Force Two (JTF-2) commando unit has recently taken Taliban or al-Qaeda fighters prisoner. In a comedy of errors the arrival of the troops at Kandahar airport with their prisoners was photographed by the Associated Press, which misidentified the soldiers as Americans. This photograph was in turn displayed on the front page of the January 22nd Globe and Mail newspaper, again listing the troops as Americans. At the same time the Canadian government repeatedly stated that the Canadian troops already in Afghanistan had yet to take prisoners and therefore concerns over their treatment were still hypothetical. It took until Friday before the Canadian government knew the truth about the photograph. When they knew about the operation itself is unclear.

The editorial staff of IE: Money may wish to edit their January 2002 article on Weather related financial options. The main broker of these contacts was Eron Corp.
The forecast should have been cloudy with a chance of Chapter 11 .

In what sounds like an ER episode plot, the body of a missing 80-year-old man was found inside a Vancouver, British Columbia hospital where he had been missing for a month. The man who suffered from dementia had wandered off and somehow got stuck in a crawlspace between the second and third floors of the hospital.
