Sci Fi Wire reports that the WB Network backed by sister cable channels TNT and TBS are buying the TV rights to the Lord of Rings movie trilogy for an estimated $160 million dollars. The three networks will rights to the movies for various periods over the next 10 years. All three networks are owned by AOL Time Warner, which also owns New Line Cinema, which produced the movies.
