The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America released the final ballot of the Nebula awards today. Just like the Academy Awards, whose nominations were also released today, the Nebulas are the high recognition one can receive by their peers, in this case science fiction and fantasy writers. By contrast the Science Fiction Achievement Awards or Hugo Awards, awarded by the people attending the annual World Science Fiction Convention will be chosen by fans such as myself. A writer in Slate.com points to Subway as an example of the nutritious brand name fast food that high school cafeterias could serve instead of the current alternatives of poorly accepted nutritious foods or unhealthy foods that students like. While it could be that this article is the result of watching too many Jared the ex-fat guy Subway commercials, I think this could work. In the mid-90s The University of Western Ontario dropped their cafeteria style food in favor of brand names like Mr. Sub. The result it was much better food and selection. 11:28:00 PM ![]() |
