Missing Trader Suspected of Fraud. A Baltimore-based foreign-exchange dealer is missing and is suspected of defrauding Allied Irish Banks of $750 million, officials of Ireland's biggest company said Wednesday. [AP World News]
Oh dear! The main worry here in Ireland is that AIB will come with begging bowl in hand looking for the Government to bail it out -- as was done once before when AIB took over an Insurance company which then failed.

Powell Tells Arafat to Make Choice. Secretary of State Colin Powell demanded on Tuesday that Yasser Arafat choose between peace and terror and made clear which option the United States expects. [AP World News]
This is turning into an orchestrated campaign by Israel to discredit Yasser Arafat, and the US administration unfortunately seems to be falling for it. And Mr Sharon will no doubt press the point further when he meets George W. on Thursday -- a well-met pair: one gung-ho meets another.
