Assuming the stated facts here are correct, this neatly serves to confirm my worst suspicions about the record companies. Wouldn't it be refreshing if somewhere, someone came out and said upfront that they were adopting a particular course of action because it was going to make them more money, rather than always resorting to the spin of presenting things in the best possible light. Fundamentally, the spin-as-best-we-can approach is an insult to people's intelligence.
